Opening up this second episode of These Things Take Time today by sending you all so much love, peace and healing energy, wherever it is you’re listening/viewing from. The purpose of this podcast is to share the insights + stories of independent Creators as we reflect on the process + time it takes to bring our dreams to life.
In this episode, I converse with Friday Lynton — a friend, inspiration + kind, supportive spirit to myself + her community at large. Friday is a Metal-Based Artist, Entrepreneur and the Creator of her own Metal Design House based in Brooklyn, New York.
FBF Metal Atelier’s 10 year anniversary is approaching and Friday Lynton has built up quite the archive of metal objects + notes, with each chapter of the line’s story focusing on a different “F” word. So far there’s been first, fun, finesse, female, fear, found?, and friends… And as we discuss chapter 9 of the FRIDAY BY FRIDAY Metal Atelier, freedom is the title + topic — exploring what it means to create freedom for ourselves internally, as well as within our careers.
During our interview, Friday Lynton shares her perspective on what it feels like to be an artist, self-care routines, the importance of respecting + uplifting the youth, mental health and more. She also gives insight to the inspiration behind the freedom production for FBF Metal Atelier as an introduction to what’s to come over the next few weeks.
Below are the first campaign images from “chapter 9: freedom” to be released. These are the visuals for part 1 of FBF Metal Atelier’s internet installation, featuring Verleen Armstrong shot by Dee Williams — both NYC artists. The focus for this installation the first ever (released), FBF Metal Atelier handbag, with patchwork + colors that can be customized per client.
The FBF Metal Atelier Online Exhibition is now open and operating for commissioned metal objects.
Just like the strong links on her metal objects, Friday Lynton connects so many different career positions + people together to create an even bigger, more impactful work of art. She is also the Founder of the Fashion With Friday Academy, which provides mentorship opportunities + workshops for Creative Scholars, as well as a professor at LIM College + a Creative Coach. Truly 1 of 1; always evolving + making dreams and real life align for herself + her community.
You can follow Friday Lynton’s work @FBFmetalatelier on Instagram + view her online exhibition at fbfmetalatelier.com.
